Mekong Food inaugurated a high-quality rice factory in Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province, which becomes the first rice factory of Mekong in the Mekong Delta region. With the aim of improving the quality of finished rice product, serving business activities well and contributing to the sustainable development of Southern agriculture. The factory will be put into operation since July 18, 2023. In the future, the research and development (R&D) department will continue to be established with the goal of turning this factory into a factory that integrates development, production and sales processes. he new factory built in Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province covers a total area of 5,338 square meters with a capacity of up to 15,000 tons and can be expanded in the future. With an investment of about USD 5 million, the mill is expected to meet the growing demand for high-quality finished rice for the Vietnamese market. It is expected that the factory will have a capacity of about 1,000 tons per day. The finished rice products produced are not only traded in the Vietnamese market but also exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In the first half of 2023, Mekong Food Corp is one of the leading exporters in Vietnam. The operation of the new rice factory in Dong Thap helps the company build a streamlining supply chain, control the quality of finished rice, save processing costs and lessen its reliance on market fluctuations.

On January 31, 2023, Mekong Food Joint Stock Company branch in An Giang held the opening ceremony of the sticky rice factory in Hung My Hamlet, Phu Hung Commune, Phu Tan District, An Giang Province. Phu Tan sticky rice factory was completed and put into operation to achieve the goal of fully, promptly and maximizing output to serve domestic consumption and export activities.
